Data

Here you'll find all the data that is currently available. Our datasets are held in various toolkits that are freely available to everyone.

CCSR - Children's Commissioning Support Resource

Here you'll find the Children's Commissioning Support Resource database which provides local authorities with information about placement provision, usage, services and locations across Wales. This will enable authorities to commission targeted services for looked after children.

Census data

A Census of Population is undertaken every 10 years and provides the only comprehensive set of statistics for small geographical areas in the UK. Here you'll find information relating to census data.

Comparable authorities

This is the Data Unit’s comparable authorities model. It is designed so that Welsh local authorities can find their nearest statistical neighbours.

Emyr - secure data transfer

Emyr is a bi-lingual secure website for data transfer between us and other organisations. It uses a Secure Socket Layer (SSL) which is a commonly-used method for message transmission over the Internet, and has an encryption level in the same way as online banking provides security.

Geography look-up tables

A number of look-up tables have been prepared by various organisations to understand the different geographical areas and how they relate to other geographies. Information on geography look-up tables can be found here.

Gwion – view and explore our data

Here you can see and explore all the data that we publish. This includes details of the Performance Management Framework and performance indicators. You will also find datasets that fall into two broad categories: data which is both collected and published by us; and data which is collected by other organisations. This includes housing and personal social services data. Gwion will open in a new window.

NPD - National Pupil Database

The National Pupil Database - Wales enables stakeholders (schools, local authorities, the public, for example) to analyse national pupil data. This is provided by the Pupil Level Annual School Census (PLASC), National Curriculum Assessment data, and external examination data.

Quality of life indicators

Quality of Life indicators are used for community plans and can improve the way in which data is used to drive improvement. These indicators also provide contextual information to facilitate the effective use of data.

Release schedule

This is our release schedule which indicates the timetable for disseminating data through our website. The table is divided up by work area or by date of release, therefore you can search by subject of interest or by month.

Welsh Index of Multiple Deprivation (WIMD)

Here you'll be able to access interactive maps and deprivation data relating to WIMD.
